Trade unions were and remain the most mass public organization that represents and protects socio-labor and civil rights, professional and social interests of union members and workers’ collectives. The union is not only a reliable and effective protection of social-labor rights and interests of members of the union, but also a necessary condition for creating a favorable climate in the collective. Today, the motto of our organization, as well as of the trade union movement in general, is “We – together!”. Therefore, we are united not only by professional activity but also by leisure, so that the team participates in the life of each employee, helps solve problems, rejoices and be sad together with him. Only in such a friendly collective there is room for new creative ventures, professional growth, progressive ideas. Only in a workplace where the professional and management have an interest in creating favorable working conditions for employees will they feel comfortable and confident. The effectiveness of a trade union organization is determined by how effectively it addresses the problems of workers who are members of a trade union, and how effective the system of protection for employees in an enterprise is.

All members of a trade union shall have the right to protection of their social labour rights and professional interests. The main instrument of social partnership between an employer and a trade union is a collective agreement. The agreement allows to extend the scope of existing labor legislation, provide additional financing for occupational safety and health measures, improve working conditions and welfare of workers, and provide them with material assistance.

One of the most important tasks for employers and trade unions is to create healthy and safe working conditions for workers, prevent industrial accidents and occupational diseases, and monitor proper and timely investigation and accounting for industrial accidents. occupational diseases related to the performance of their work.

The trade union committee, together with employers, is constantly analyzing the system of labor protection work in our team with the aim of synchronizing it with measures to implement the “zero” injury concept in the Republic of Belarus. Social monitoring of compliance with the legislation on occupational safety and health is carried out by 6 public inspectors.

The Social Inspectorate for Occupational Safety and Health shall carry out public supervision in the form of monitoring, analysis, evaluation of participation in the work of collegial bodies, commissions and other forms provided for by legislation, collective agreements and other regulatory acts.

Public safety inspectors are elected at the general meeting of the trade union group, at the meeting of the workshop committee, at a conference of the primary trade union organization for the term of office of the governing body and carry out supervision in the workplace.
